Slide Show Project
As a group, create ONE slide show (around 6 slides). One person can open a google slides and share access to other members. You will start by reading the article that pertains to your animal. Whale, Grasshopper, Salmon, Sponge, and Waterbear are a part of the Amplify curriculum. Squid, Earthworm, Crawdad, Snake and the Venus Fly Trap are on a paper given to you by the teacher. Please leave these behind for the next class.
Each person should complete one slide with bulleted information, pictures (and or video) to explain their body system in the animal assigned to your group. Each group project will be presented in under 5 minutes (per group)... less than 1 minute per person. If you have a cool video, that can be shown but not count towards the time allotment. The slide will be shown up front and you can talk about what you learned at your seat.
WATER BEAR (group 1), WHALE (2), GRASSHOPPER (3), TROUT/SALMON (5), SQUID (group 6), EARTHWORM (7), CRAWDAD (table 8), SNAKE (back table near my desk)
Squid, Earthworm, Snake and Crawdad have a separate reading activity NOT in the Amplify curriculum
Slides in the Google Slides
Intro Slide: whoever has extra time
Cool facts about the animal
possible quick video.
A few abiotic and biotic factors
Cool pictures and anything else that makes the project more interesting.
Circulatory system: show how the organism GETS MATTER to each cell. Include any cells, tissues or organs involved. Cool facts are always fun.
Respiratory System: go over gas exchange, how the animal gets oxygen and gets rid of carbon dioxide. Include any cells, tissues or organs involved.
Digestive system go over how the organism gets (eats) and breaks down food (digests). Include if your animal is an herbivore, carnivore or omnivore. Include any cells, tissues or organs involved.
Nervous system: include any brain, nerve cells or messages getting sent to the brain. What senses do the animals have (eyes, taste, etc). Include any cells, tissues or organs involved.
If you have trouble finding information, broaden your search...
whale: also search for dolphin
Grasshopper: also search for insect or cricket or any other insect
Trout: also search for fish
Squid: also search octopus
Water bear: also search tardigrade
Earthworm: also search for worm
Crawdad: also search for crayfish, lobster, crab or crustacean
SEA SPONGE (group 4)
Intro Slide: whoever has extra time
Cool facts about the animal
possible quick video.
A few abiotic and biotic factors
Cool pictures and anything else that makes the project more interesting.
NO Respiratory System NO SYSTEM but a sponge still needs Oxygen. How does that happen?
NO Digestive system but living things still need nutrients. How does that happen?
NO Circulatory system BUT how does the organism GET MATTER to cells
NO Nervous system: Go over what a nervous system is and how the sponge doesn't need one to survive. Then help out with slide 1 & 2.
Venus Fly trap

Cool facts about the animal
Find a quick cool video. I will show you how to crop the video to show the best part for the class.

Gas exchange. What gas goes in and what goes out.
Where does it get it’s glucose to survive and grow
A slide about Photosynthesis
