Create a Google slide show that explains your beneficial Mutation.

A mutation is a random change in DNA which is found in your cells.  Most changes to the DNA don't do anything, some ae harmful and occasionally mutations can be beneficial.  We are going to research a few interesting mutations that affects the skeletal or muscular system of different animals.  An article will be randomly assigned to you and your partner and you do research on that one mutation. A rought template will be provided on google classroom.  

Vocab:  Scientific name, organ system, mutation, food web, omnivore, herbivore, carnivore, predator and prey.  

Requirements for your google slide show:

• 1st slide:  Title page.  Include a title and a picture that is relevant to your project.   What species is affected.  Remember to look up the Genus and Species name of the organism. 

• 2nd  slide:  What is the function of the organ system and how does this mutation affect that organ system?  Include any pictures that help describe the body system.   

• 3rd Slide:  Explain the mutation and how it is beneficial to the animal.

• 4th slide:  insert a video clip of your mutation or if you can't find one specific to your mutation then include one of the organ system that it affects.  

• 5th slide:  include a generic food web of this animal.  Is it a carnivore, omnivore, herbivore or decomposer?  Name an organism that your animal preys upon (your animal eats what) and explain a predator (your animal gets eaten by what)?   

• 6th slide:  Find a picture (and label) for each of the vocab terms: Scientific name, organ system, omnivore, herbivore, carnivore, predator and prey.
